Wow! Budget... cool
I
have an old (well, from 2000) Sony digital video camera. I've made some
funny little vids before and edited them together in Adobe Premiere.
Complete overkill for what I'm doing but it's lots of fun.

I'm resisting the temptation to say much about the next film, as I
think that might spoil the fun. Work on it is progressing very slowly
at the moment due to other commitments, so don't hold your breath...
Should be fun though!

CSO
is a term that the BBC came up with which stood for Colour Separation
Overlay. You'll probably know it better as Chromakey or "Green
Screening" - ie, you put up a green (or blue, yellow or red) screen on
your set and in post production you can then replace the green with
another image, say a weird alien landscape and so forth.

The DARDIS interior was all shot in the workshop, which seems to be bigger on the inside than it is on the outside... The "studio" (useable work area) in there is about 17' by 10', not counting the workbench and TARDIS console prop.

Great stuff Crispin! You've got a great collection of Daleks there
(that were always my favourite Dalek colour scheme) and good to see
your console back (even though it doesn't stay inside the tardis for
long in this episode - shades of 'Inferno' there
Excellent Dalek control room set at well!! Looks like you must have been very busy prop-building for this one!
cheers Chris

That was BRILLIANT. Wonderfullly daft, fun, smart, clever, inventive, traditional, enjoyable and I could go on (and I do...).
Absoultely
fantastic, you've outdone yourself, that is the best fan-thing I've
ever seen bar none. I especially enjoyed the credits, it's good to see
the tea-makers union getting representation at last. Oh and VETOED!
Wonderful!
Kicks butt from here to neptune and I loved the
careful use of older footage too. and the CSO fringing - perfect! And
the cut out - wonderful.......!!!!!
Congratualtions to the whole film-making team, you've raised the bar.
Oh, one question - what was the lamp filled with? TARDIS Fuel? Coffee? Birdseed?

Thanks Glen! The cheque's in the post! I found the bird-feeder in the same range as the new TARDIS lamp, so it's filled with quinoa from Mrs. Scarfwearer's kitchen. I think this movie has more references/nods to (mostly dalek) DW stories than all the others put together...

Wow Scarfwearer, fantastic How long did it take you to build the sets... they were all fantastic! Are the daleks all yours or did you borrow some?
Well done!

Cheers! Actually the sets didn't take all that long - probably a couple
of weeks of evenings if it were all done at once, but it took place
over about six months and I was filming in between. Most of the sets
and props were made from hardboard as it's cheap and lightweight. I
only built six of the big hardboard set flats and they did triple duty
as DARDIS exterior walls, and then repainted as corridors and control
room back panels in between a lot of editing. There were three daleks that I built in the film. There is a fourth, but it's not complete enough to film with.
Perhaps
I should start a thread to talk about the construction, as I suppose
it's on topic. I've been holding off as I didn't want it to be a
spoiler.

The flats I made are 48" by 92" (I chopped 4" off the end because the
ceilings are so low in my workshop - they still scraped the ceiling at
times). The 'pillars' are 3-sided boxes 16" on a side, each made from
one sheet of plywood which I cut up.
The
DARDIS exterior is modeled on the one from "The Chase", the door and
corridors are in the style of "Power of the Daleks" and the control
room is reasonably close to that in "The Dalek Masterplan", so it's a
bit of a mixture - though it's semi-intentional as I wanted to make
reference to lots of dalek stories.
I compromised a lot on the
measurements to get a lot of re-use of the parts. Because the flats are
only 48" wide, so are the control consoles, though I think in
Masterplan they look more like five feet wide.
The DARDIS console is 48" at the widest point - exactly half the width of the TARDIS one I built.

Very cool I'll have to try to knock something out with those measurements soon.
My
new current project (shouldn't be a huge one) is the petrol pump area
from Evil of the Daleks 1 (as I work there, its quite easy to take
measurements)
