WELCOME TO SCARFWEARER'S PLACE
Site last updated: Thursday 26th February 2009
This is Scarfwearer's place - a site for Whovians.
I've been a Doctor Who fan for most of my life, and I've been building props for my own
amusement for a few years now, and would like to share the how-tos and results with anyone interested.
Click the links at the top of the page and take a look around!
What's new
It's been most of five years since the site was launched, and this is the first time it's been seriously redecorated.
Last time I went for technological minimalism, on the assumption that this would make the website useable on the widest variety of browsers.
This time, I've been slightly less conservative and embraced CSS. Whether this helps or hinders remains to be seen!
The site should be easier to navigate and easier to maintain.
Besides the new look, there's a section on the moving and reassembly of my console room, which has been on-going for some time now.
I've also finally decided to show my movies on the site, for your entertainment.

The Guilds
If you're interested in Doctor Who prop building and you haven't visited the Guilds, do so! They're a mine of
valuable info.
Why build props?
Because.
Partly for the challenge, but partly because it tweaks
our notion of what is real. When faced with something very tangible that
looks real but isn't, it can't but help you to look in a more discerning
way at other things that may look real that aren't. And the more you look,
the more you find...
